Job Title: Intern (Roboticist – Engineering)

Reports To: Chief Operating Officer

Job Purpose

Engineering Interns with Praxis Aerospace Concepts are a vital part of our team. Interns actively participate in projects, interact with clients and solve real-world challenges. We provide experience in real world applications to help develop and fine-tune skills ranging from hands-on technical abilities to technical writing and communications. Interns will gain technical foundation and acquire leadership skills, project management experience, and cross-functional process knowledge.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Intern (Roboticist – Engineering) is responsible for a variety of different projects and day today tasks. Duties may vary depending upon placement within the organization.

Project Support

  • Undertake and successfully complete project tasks within schedules
  • Document solutions, processes, testing processes, equipment, and products
  • Complete activities as needed to satisfy management directives
  • Prepare standard reports / documentation to communicate results and project status
  • Recognize the importance of quality products and outstanding customer service, both direct and indirect

Research and Analysis

  • Validate equipment and processes
  • Identify areas for improvement, suggest solutions, and submit ideas
  • May assist in creating concepts and design approaches for client-driven products / processes / test methods

Qualifications

  • Must be a current student, enrolled in a university and pursuing a degree
  • Completion of at least junior year of a degree program
  • Preferred Degree Program in computer science, engineering-centric discipline, applied math or other algorithmic-centric discipline, robotics program, machine learning, or in a highly quantitative field
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Great attention to detail and a results-driven approach
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong work ethic

Working Conditions

  • Part-Time position
  • Federal: Non-exempt under FLSA
  • NV State: Non-exempt; when compensation is over 1.5 x NV Minimum Wage, NRS 608.018 (1)(b) applies
  • Flexible work hours; Standard 15 – 25 hours a week; individual programs may differ
